Beacon College, founded in 1989, was the first college in the country accredited to award bachelor degrees exclusively to students with learning disabilities, ADHD and other learning differences. Given the right environment, any student can succeed.

James Samuel Vincent (1963 - )

Born in Lansing, MI, Vincent grew up, played high school ball, and attended Michigan State University, all within about an 8 sqmi area. He was the first ever "Mr. Basketball" in the state, broke Magic Johnson's high school scoring record with a 61-point effort in his senior year, and was an All-American at MSU.

Drafted in the first round of the 1985 draft by Boston, Vincent won the NBA Championship with the Celtics (and fellow GT Signature member Greg Kite) in 1986. He continued playing in th NBA through 1992.

Following his retirement, Vincent has been a coach on numerous levels, including Head Coach duties for Michael Jordan's Bobcats in Charlotte, national teams in Nigeria and Bahrain, and at the college level.
