Christian Emeka Okoye (1961 - )

Born in Enugu, Nigeria, Okoye excelled in track and field winning seven college titles in shot put, discus, and hammer throw. It wasn't until the age of 23 that Okoye played his first snap of football, a couple of years later being selected by the Chiefs in the 1987 NFL Draft.

His rare combination of size and speed, along with his ability to run through and over people, earned him the nickname "The Nigerian Nightmare" and made him difficult to tackle. In his time with the Chiefs, he was an All-Pro (2), Pro Bowler (2), Offensive Player of the Year (1989), and the NFL's leading rusher (1989).

Following his retirement, Okoye was inducted into the Chiefs Hall of Fame and Ring of Honor.
